This album makes me cry. For the past 11 years, my primary mode of transportation was a 1972 Chevy El Camino SS. It was the first purchase I made when I moved to LA in 2000. If you're not familiar with the El Camino, it has the hot rod front with a truck back which you can easily throw a mattress into and have sex. When I was 12-years-old, it was the exact car that I learned to drive in and when I went West, it was the only thing I wanted. In the decade-plus I had the car, I only let 2 other people drive it and both times the car got fucked up.
After the first time, I vowed never to let anyone drive the car again. Ten years passed and I must have forgotten my cardinal rule. I lent the El Camino to my fucking brother-in-law for one month and in that time, he seized my engine, rendering the car "completely useless" unless it gets a new engine, which he can't afford.
So once again I'm fucked.
And this album makes me think about my poor dead car.

someone told me this band has been around for awhile... but i always hear their music in arenas for sports. including their newest single, Lonely Boy. i feel their just another band that will be around for 2-3 years just like all this "dubstep" bullshit fad
I think this album is great! I also think Chris Nieratko is great! If you want to know what to think about El Camino, go onto iTunes and listen to it! iTunes is great! Anyway, great!
You've just got to take the reviews in the spirit in which they were intended, that's all. Sure, Chris Nieratko approaches his task in a Les Nessman-like fashion (it's a WKRP In Cincinatti reference people; look it up), but that's kind of the point. This is BA! Let the other sites offer insight; we want the sort of non-sensical ramblings that are perfectly in keeping with Burning Angel's irreverent attitude. Keep up the...work, Mr. Nieratko... ;)
