The fact that Street Dogs - the punk band from Boston - decided to make this, their fifth album, a self-titled album, made me laugh. Don’t people usually make their first album self-titled? Have they run out of album names? Seems weird.

The title also reminded me of my wife's cat, Munchie, who we had to put down last week after a short but traumatic and devastating battle with cancer. In a matter of just two months, the poor guy went from fat Garfield sized cat to nothing but skin and bones. It sucked awful. He was my wife's homie for over a decade and she wouldn't stop crying leading up to his death or since. I felt so helpless that I couldn't do anything for her. I also felt bad for myself that I was unable to make any jokes about how, "My wife killed her pussy," because she was so depressed. I hate when I have to show restraint and take people's feelings into consideration. Shit sucks.

But at least we still have a dog and September 11th is rolling around the corner and my baby boy is going to be a year old and me and my wife have taken to arguing over themes for his birthday. She wants everything to be dog themed, whereas I want everything to be 9/11 and airplane themed. Hopefully we can come to a compromise. Maybe dogs riding on airplanes? While playing poker? We need to figure it out quick because the cake decorator needs to know if she should incorporate the Twin Towers or not.
