Anthony: I’m good, how are you doing?

Joanna: [Laughs] Do you know what you’re being interviewed for?

Anthony: Uh, Burning Angel dot com.

Joanna: Have you looked at Burning Angel dot com?

Anthony: Ummm, I would be lying if I said that I haven’t.

Joanna: [Laughs] Do you know who Kylee Kross is?

Anthony: I would be lying if I said i didn't.

Joanna: You guys are one of her favorite bands.

Anthony: Really?

Joanna: Yeah, she told me to interview you guys.

Anthony: Oh, that’s awesome.

Joanna: Is there anything you want me to tell her for you? [laughs].

Anthony: Ummmm…yeah! Thanks for the support!

Joanna: [Laughs] So, um, alright tell everybody what your name is and what you do in Armor For Sleep.

Anthony: My name is Anthony and I play bass.

Joanna: Ok, how long have you been a band for?

Anthony: The band – we’ve really been Armor For Sleep for about four years. Ben recorded two songs by himself, was giving out demos, and um, gave me demo, um I was in another band at the time and about two weeks after he gave me the demo, we broke up, and so I called Ben and was like “I got the demo and I like the songs, so if you ever want to jam, give me a call.” So, uh, he called me up, we started playing together and there were two other members in the band. When we went out to LA to record “Where Dream To Make Believe”, our first release, us and the other two members parted ways –

Joanna: This is like a soap opera…

Anthony: Yeah. [Both laugh] Isn’t it all like a soap opera?

Joanna: I guess everything is a little bit like a soap opera.

Anthony: So that’s when Nash and PJ joined the band.

Joanna: Ok. And now you guys are all together.

Anthony: We’ve been together for about four years and that’s when Armor For Sleep really started.

Joanna: Ok. What is an armor for sleep? When I sleep, I usually sleep naked.

Anthony: I actually have a few different takes on it. I like to say that it’s a condom, because you need "armor" to sleep.

Joanna: You guys should sponsor, like, a Trojan ad.

Anthony: I know, I know. That’s what I tell people, kidding around. But I think it is when Ben first started writing songs, it would be late at night when he would get ideas and that would be his armor for sleep.

Joanna: Well that’s really poetic.

Anthony: Yeah…

Joanna: You’re the scumbag in the band that looks at BurningAngel.com [laughs].

Anthony: Hey, I think we’ve all looked at Burning Angel…

Joanna: I know [laughs]. Do you have any ex-girlfriends that are on Burning Angel?

Anthony: No, I don’t.

Joanna: Does anyone else in the band?

Anthony: I don’t think so…I’ve never even talked to a girl from Burning Angel.com…I think…yeah…

Joanna: Oh, ok, well then I guess today’s your first…

Anthony: [Serious] Yeah – this is the first…

Joanna: [Serious] Is everything ok? Is it everything you ever hoped it would be?

Anthony: Uh, yes, so far it is – yes.

Joanna: Like, I mean any other porn other than Burning Angel.

Anthony: Yeah, I’ve watched porn – other than Burning Angel.

Joanna: Do you have a favorite porn star?

Anthony: Ummm…I would have to say…I really watch porn for, like, the dialogue cause I think it’s hilarious, but I do like Lexus…

Joanna: Uh-huh…you watch porn for the dialogue [laughs]…?

Anthony: Yeah. She’s – I believe she’s a Vivid porn star.

Joanna: Ew.

Anthony: But I think she’s my favorite.

Joanna: Oh, ok. What makes her so special?

Anthony: Ummm, I don’t know. She’s just amazingly gorgeous.

Joanna: Hmm, so that’s what you want to see in porn – someone who’s amazingly gorgeous?

Anthony: Well, of course. I don’t want to see ugly girls get railed.

Joanna: Well, you know – beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You know?

Anthony: Yeah, I know and I like –

Joanna: You like ‘em polished?

Anthony: No, I am a big fan of inner beauty. But if I’m just watching them on a tv screen, it’s not like I am really getting to know them.

Joanna: I see. So what’s your type of girl like?

Anthony: Umm, for some reason I always say that I’m not into blondes, but then again I always seem to be ending up dating blondes for some reason, so I guess there’s something that attracts me there. Umm, I’m definitely a breast guy.

Joanna: You’re saying you like boobs? Better than you like asses?

Anthony: Yeah, I like a full woman. Not too skinny, cause then –

Joanna: [Laughs] I think most guys like fuller women.

Anthony: Yeah, cause it’s like, it’s cool for a month and then it just gets kind of boring –

Joanna: Yeah, you want something to grab onto?

Anthony: Right…I guess…yeah, I’ve heard that before, but…

Joanna: [Laughs] Well, you know, is that what you like?

Anthony: Ummm…this is an over-18 site, right?

Joanna: [Laughs] Yeah.

Anthony: Ok, then yes. No – I’m just saying we have a young fan base and I don’t want to upset them.

Joanna: That’s ok – don’t worry about it. No one from your young fan base will be looking at this website and if they are, then they’re breaking the rules and they’re bad kids anyway and you probably don’t want them listening to your music! [Laughs]

Anthony: Yeah…

Joanna: So what label are you guys on?

Anthony: Equal Vision Records.

Joanna: Oh, ok, how do you like it on there? That’s pretty cool that you guys aren’t on a major label right now.

Anthony: Yeah, it’s awesome. I mean, of course we’ve been talking with major labels, trying to figure out what we’re gonna do, but Equal Vision’s been so supportive and we’re doing so well and so much of it is because of them.

Joanna: Did you grow up in New Jersey?

Anthony: Yeah – we’re all from New Jersey.

Joanna: What’s your favorite New Jersey punk rock band.

Anthony: Ever?

Joanna: Yeah.

Anthony: Umm, we’re all big fans of Lazy Day.

Joanna: Are you a Lifetime fan?

Anthony: Yes.

Joanna: I think they were the best NJ punk rock band.

Anthony: I'd have to say Saves the Day is my favorite.

Joanna: I am sure even the people in Saves the Day would agree that Lifetime is better than Saves The Day[Laughs]. So, the people that are reading this band interview are probably taking a break from jerking off to photos; is there anything you want to say to these people who took the time out to read your interview when there’s all this distraction of naked girls all over the place?

Anthony: Yeah, I mean... thanks? I don’t know if I’d even be reading this interview…

Joanna: Any advice you want to give anyone?

Anthony: Practice safe sex!

Joanna: [Laughing] Yes. Use an “armor for sleep”…

Anthony: Yeah, use an armor for sleep –

Joanna: Well that’s very considerate of you… Have you been using an armor for sleep for all your exciting adventures while on tour?

Anthony: Um, exciting adventures…hmmm, I don’t know – every day right now seems the same…I’m kinda in the “fishbowl.”

Joanna: Oh, what does the fishbowl mean?

Anthony: I’ve been on tour for like a month. I wake up at 3:30, we sound check, we drink, we play a show, we drink some more, watch movies, watch tv…

Joanna: Where’s all the girls?

Anthony: Huh?

Joanna: [Laughs] There must be other female fans of Armor For Sleep other than Kylee Kross.

Anthony: I don’t know. I just got out of a relationship a week ago, so…

Joanna: Oh, are you ok? Do you need a hug from a few of the girls at Burning Angel?

Anthony: Yeah…[Laughs]

Anthony: It was a two-and-a-half-year relationship…
