Joanna: Everyone say your name and what you do in the Casualties.

Rick: My name is Rick and I play bass.

Meggers: My name's Meggers I play drums.

Jake: Jake and I play guitar.

Joanna: Where's Jorge!? I didn't see him on stage!

Jake: Um... he was having some problems and couldn't come to the show.

Joanna: So you played the show without a singer?

Jake: (laughs) Yeah, I mean, you do what you gotta do.

Joanna: Can I still ask questions about him even though he's not here?

Chummy: Yeah... and can you answer them like you're him and talk in an accent?

Jake: Um....

Joanna: (laughs) OK... How long have you been a band for?

Jake: We've been a band since 1990. I joined in '93 and George has been in the band since the very beginning so he's on the first single. Everything after the first single I'm on. Me and Megs are on all the full-lengths, then Rick came in about 3 years ago.

Joanna: You guys are all from New York right?

Jake: I'm from Jersey. I live in Philly now. Megs is from New York and Rick is from New York.

Meggers: And Jorge is from Ecuador.

Joanna: When I was younger, Jorge worked at Trash and Vaudeville and gave me discounts on shoes.

Meggers: Yeah he used to give stuff to everybody.

Jake: He cut everybody deals. It was pretty good.

Joanna: How old is he?

Jake: He's on his way to forty let's just say that.

Joanna: What do you think is the average age of the girls he's dated?

All: 18.

Joanna: So do you guys tour a lot?

Rick: Yeah. This past year we toured about 8 months I think.

Chummy: Do you guys go to a lot of strip clubs on tour?

Jake: Oh definitely. Even the bad ones.

Meggers: Well the bad ones are usually the good ones.

Chummy: Do strippers dig the Mohawks?

Meggers: Oh yeah. Actually all strippers dig Mohawks and tattoos. I guess they get these old creepy scumbags all day so there's kind of a charm to the young scumbags.

Joanna: Do you ever get any like, "tour ass?"

Rick: Absolutely not.

Joanna: No?!?!!

Jake: That was back in the single days. We all have girlfriends now.

Joanna: Do girls try?

Jake: Yeah you get opportunities and you enjoy it, but you know.

Joanna: Does Jorge have a kid? I heard somewhere that he has a kid.

Jakee: Yes. He keeps it in a cage.

Meggers: Yeah, his kid lives in Atlanta.

Joanna: I saw you guys a lot when I was in high school, and I remember your main phrase being "this is not a fucking costume, this is a way of life." I mean, is that still true? Do you really dress like this all the time?

Jake: Yeah, more or less.

Joanna: What about when you go to sleep?

Jake: I mean, if I'm at home watchin like Goodfellas or something, I'll have like my Adidas on. I'll be shitty here and there.

Meggers: Jake loves his Adidas.

Joanna: How would you say the punk rock crowd has changed since you started?

Jake: I think it's a lot easier now. I mean, it used to be like, it's either all punk rock or it's not. Now at least you can mix it up a little.

Rick: Yeah like we played with H20, and Andrew W.K. We're trying to reach a larger audience.

Meggers: We're not gonna change our music but we're bringing it to a larger mass.

Joanna: Do you think you're successful at doing this? I was standing outside for a bit before the show, and I overheard people picking out who was here to see the Casualties and who wasn't. Is it wrong to assume that all your fans have big Mohawks and spiky leather jackets?

Jake: Yeah. That sucks. We're just fast aggressive music and everyone can like that.

Joanna: Yeah. Well, when the chorus of your song is "Spikey Haired Drunk Punks... OI!" you have to understand that some people feel left out.

Chummy: Do you guys watch porno?

Jake: Yeah. I'm a big fan of FM Bradley. He's a big raw-ass black porno star who talks all this shit while he's banging.

Chummy: Doesn't he wear a diaper?

Jake: Yeah!

Joanna: What about you Megs?

Meggers: I just want to see some penetration. I don't care who it is.

Joanna: OK. Is there anything else you wanna add?
