So GameOver and I had been planning this little 2 year wedding anniversary outing to Austin ever since we heard A3 was playing. I worked hard all week anticipating Saturday night when I'd officially be off <3 Finally, Saturday arrived and my creepy door man Bear told me he took something to the DJ booth that was left for me, so I skip like a little girl [in stripper shoes, mind you] to my DJ, Carlos, and I find a gorgeous bunch of red roses and a cute sparkley card depicting a penguin couple on the front arguing about where they parked the car, and eventually, where the keys were left. I immediately thought of all those dreadful mid-day runs to wal-mart with my hubby and had a good laugh.
At last the evening was over and GameOver picks me up, I throw my bags in the back seat and let out a loud, drunken, "HIIIIIIIII!". I could tell he was a little dissapointed that I was already intoxicated, and I later found out why, as I stepped into our room and found the bed covered in red and white rose pedals and my FAVORITE bottle of wine <3! I couldn't have been more happy at that moment! Then of course, as many of you have seen us do, we banged like happy little rabbits, G.O. was especially happy, since I let him fuck me in the ass, and eventually ERUPT in there...and I use the word erupt for a reason, seriously, the bed shook ;D
The next morning I gasped as I discovered all of the tweets from the aftermath of the butt banging, especially the ones to which many replied "Wow, you went there." Then I checked to see if there were any tickets available to see Alkaline Trio at Emo's in Austin...alas, they were sold out. We were debating whether to even go at all, but we wanted to get out of town so we made the drive anyway, and before leaving we picked up Dorothy, one of our newest members, and street teamer! She had never really experienced Austin, since the last time she went, she wasnt old enough to get into any clubs/bars. We took her to 6th, to show her this amazing little Irish pub we have grown to love, called B.D. Riley's. G.O. and I had some Guiness ice cream, an.d a couple of beers. We paid our tab and left, walked down the street a bit and a small group of people caught my eye. I'm very good at remembering faces, I may not always remember names, but I know when someone looks FAMILIAR. The three of us stop, and G.O. and I debate whether it was really Alkaline Trio or not, all the while, the small group is getting away FAST. We decide to turn around and look for them, we must have walked back and forth about three times, then finally G.O. suggested we check this other bar we like to go to, The Jackalope. The three of us venture in, and there's a small raised area with two round tables in the back corner of the bar, and we see our group! Trying to gain our composure, we order some beers and sit at the table right next to them, quietly contemplating how to talk to them. G.O. spills his beer on the ricketty table, and asks one of A3's friends for some napkins, he plucks some out of the holder for us and doesnt say anything, ten minutes later he decides he needs MORE, and the stranger angrily pulls out a huge wad and practically slams them into G.O.'s hand. The group next to us grew larger and larger, then people would leave periodically to smoke, or walk to the venue, I knew at this point it was do or die. The three of us figured if they were going to be nice to anyone, it would most likely be a girl, so both Dorothy and GameOver convince me to go over to them now that a good few of thier friends had left, so I nervously approach the table, and ask Dan, the bassist, if I can ask him a question. "Sure." he replies, then I ask if I can sit down, to which he asks "Was that your question? My friend is sitting here and he's coming back soon." That was not my question, so he gets up and steps aside the table, and I begin my plee, "See, there's this band I'm really in love with, and my husband and I traveled all this way for our two year anniversary and all we wanted to do was see this band play, but the tickets are sold out!" Dan: "Would that be MY band?" Me: "YES!" He tells me he can see what he can pull, and takes my name down in his phone. Once he sat back down I gave him a handfull of BA stickers and let him know I'm also here promoting this site i work for, they gaze and the stickers with wide eyes and say "OOOooooh, we know Burning Angel!" Matt begins to tell me about meeting Joanna and some of the other girls, but he couldn't remember thier names, I know they'll remember mine though ;)Once they found out we were with BA, the rude guy's attitude changed REALLY quick, and we bought them all a round of LONE STAR beers.
We finally get our food as most of the guys are leaving, Dan and Matt were the last ones to trail behind and said "Bye, Genocide! We go on at 10, your name will be at the door." I didn't want to believe them at first, I really don't know anything about these guys, and G.O. and I are not really used to awesome things happening to us. We finish our food with Dorothy, she and G.O. had this awesome bbq sandwich, and I had portobella quesadillas, and we make our way back to our car to put the food away and get more stickers, plus the camera.
End of the story to come later!
