With all the new lines of clothing out recently that have shed a more acceptable light on the idea of tattoos, [Don Ed Hardy, Ecko, etc...] It seems the Star Wars franchise has followed the trend, and in a much more TASTEFUL way might I add. I've done my best to IGNORE and just plain not acknowlege the new trend of tattoo clothing, I've lost a lot of respect for Hardy since all the clothing and fame...but I will ALWAYS stand by Sailor Jerry, his name manages to stay away from all the, for lack of a better word, GAYNESS.
Now to my point, I was looking at a site for some flash books one day, and came across an ALL STAR WARS FLASH BOOK. It has a twist on all of our favorite traditional flash, but Star Wars themed. I thought, WHY has no one else done this?! Much to my ignorance, I checked around and found myself on the SW merch site and saw there are TONS of shirts they sell like this...I was amazed. There is a SW tattoo for just about every idea you can have! Star Wars was a big part of my childhood, I'm talkin' spend ENTIRE days watching the movies over and over, this was BEFORE episode 1 came out. So I began thinking, because I've wanted way more tattoos after I finish my last session or two on my sleeve. I always thought of having a SW tattoo but didnt want to get anything ordinary, so I started tossing around ideas in my head, and I saw a lot of designs about "father" relating to Darth Vader, like "honor thy father"...stuff like that. I thought, BULLSHIT! I hate all this stuff about honoring your parents/elders....just because they're older, it does not make them perfect individuals, or even role models. I understand some of you have AMAZING parents, but unfortunately, I do not know what it is to have people like that in my life.
So I thought, I've wanted to get my feet done for a while, I'll get some sort of Vader design, identical on both feet, with a banner below each design, one saying "Father", and the other foot, "Traitor". I saw a cool design of a spider with Vader as the head, which I thought was more my style, but I also came across a painting of Darth made up to look like a sugar skull. I suppose the spider would add more depth to the design, but the skull idea is so friggin cool! Either way, "father, traitor" is where I'm going. I even spoke to my artist about booking him for a WHOLE DAY, my husband turns to me and asks, "Are you sure you can handle that?" PLEASE!
My tattoos have kind of become an investment now, seeing as I'm being contacted daily now from photographers that would like to amp up thier portfolio with my body art, plus the list of tattoo fetish sites steadily growing in population. One man that I'm working with right now, threw me a TON of ideas that apparently are popular among the fetish crowd...he even asked me if I felt comfortable getting tattooed while masturbating. My first thought is WOW that would be cool, but I dont get tattooed by anyone but my artist, and he offered to pay for the tattoo plus EXTRA to my guy. So I'm having to put some serious thought into that, and gather up the balls to bring it up in conversation to my artist soon. Not that it would happen like TOMORROW, or even NEXT MONTH, but it's still good to know how he felt about it considering he has an ol' lady.
On another note, I found some killer Star Wars costumes, and I'm SERIOUSLY considering either A. Being a BLONDE slave Leia, B. Being LeeLoo from the 5th Element like I was supposed to last year but didnt have the funds, or C. Be a slutty Ghost Buster, I saw this really cute costume last year, with a short skirt instead of the jump suit, and it came with the proton pack :)
I was Madonna last year, and a damn good one.
ALSO, back to the Ed Hardy thing, go to youtube and check out "Fuck Ed Hardy", it's a good jam :P
