Lola

Damn Lola, I planned on telling you about the time my friends and I did mushrooms in an effort to seduce you, but now that plan is ruined. Now it's gonna take me a month to think up another one. I know I started the whole movie discussion, but the funny thing is I probably won't even see it. Though I have to admit that the movie's Alice looks pretty damn hot. And from what I could tell, no magically size changing dress.

It DOES look beautiful and I'm sure I'll love it.....but the whole trippy/drug association is really going to annoy me because, really, Alice in Wonderland has way more to do with pedophilia than any kind of drugs. I don't do a lot of drugs. I smoke pot and will *occasionally* eat mushrooms or take ecstasy but I've only done that 4 or 5 times my whole life. I'm not a fan of excessive drug use and I have a feeling that I'm going to be assaulted by people who think that they can impress me by talking about mushrooms and shit. Golly, the release of this film is going to turn me into a horrible bitch ;)

I'm not the biggest Tim Burton fan. The last film of his I saw was Big Fish. That being said this film looks like a fantastic adaptation of the book. It seems like it will really capture the opium high trippiness of the original story. While I would have liked to have seen Elijah Wood in the part, it's no suprise that it went too Johnny Depp. If someone had said to you 'Tim Burton version of Alice In Wonderland' I think the first thought that would go through your head is JOhnny Depp is sure to be the Mad Hatter. Not saying it's right, just that it's predictable.

I think it's a combination of Depp and other people's material that keeps Burton around. He hasn't done anything original since Big Fish. Johnny Depp is a great actor, when he feels like it....but I think he's just doing it out of boredom and for the paycheck anymore. It's just another cookie cutter Burton movie. On another note, I just heard that Elijah Wood REALLY wanted to be the Mad Hatter and tried really hard to get the part, but they went with Depp instead. That really pissed me off....and I love Johnny Depp.

I don't mind film rants Lola. Here's a question, does Johnny Depp keep Tim Burton's film career alive, or is it the other way around? Anyway, I'll try messaging you sometime, I'm RevenantBA on aim.

I honestly don't think the new Alice is going to be very good. I love the pics though. It's awesome that you've been posting so much lately :) Always happy to read about the wonderful adventures of Lola.

Yes, it's Alice. I have a whole Alice in Wonderland sleeve....which is going to make this movie coming out particularly unpleasant. Not that it doesn't look beautiful. I just hate that all the mall goths are going to assault me about the damn thing every time they look at my arm. and because I'm pretty pissed off at Tim Burton after Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate factory. But I'm a film person haha so I can't not rant about these things. I'm ashainwonderland on aim if you ever want to hear my film related rantings haha
