Well anyways- let me just say fighting was an interesting experience. It was a hell of a lot different than I thought it would be. I wen to the gym a lot- and punched walls, and bags- and sometimes my trainer... but when I got in the ring I forgot all that I learned and did exactly what i didn't want to do- and that was, fight like a girl. Fortunately, Rawdog also fought like a girl too so it made for an OK match.
First off, let me just tell you- those fucking gloves are really heavy. I thought I was used to wearing them but I really was not. I think the gloves I wore in the match were slightly heavier than the gloves I wore while training... but who really knows. I put them on about a half hour before I had to get in the ring- which perhaps was a bad idea because by the time I got in the ring I could barely lift them. I was really pumped when I got into the ring. I was ready to kick some ass. I wore an all white outfit (with every intention to pour water all over as soon as I got sweaty), I shook my ass around- my adrenaline was up.
Then I tried to throw a few punches and I missed... and then...I got really flustered and disoriented and forgot everything I learned in training and pummeled towards Rawdog, got him down on the ground and just basically started kicking him. I am pretty sure that was against the rules. It was also against the rules when he got me in a head lock and I kicked him in the balls. Man. I really did not want to fight like a ghetto chick but it was just my first instinct to do so.
The rest of the match kinda switched from a boxing match to a WWF style match where we basically rolled around on the floor and elbowed each other and I proceeded to get more and more naked- and my outfit got more and more see-through as time went on. The crowd went crazy-I don't mean to brag it was definitely one of the most entertaining of all the matches. The guy who trained both me, and Rawdog for the fight was the ref- and i am pretty sure he will never put either of us on his future resume.
Honestly- after the match I was so increibly tired. I was actually sore for about 2 days and I could barely move. Getting in a ring and doing incorrect boxing moves for three minutes is more tiering than any other 30 minute workout I have ever done. Unfortunately, I didn't win the match- the "score" at the end was 27/28 - whatever that means. I think I lost a bunch of points when I broke the rules... but who knows how they really score this kinda shit. Some people said after wards that I totally kicked his ass- I don't know if I did... but I definitely did not get my ass kicked.
Would I do this again? Yeah- I think so. Maybe not next week, but sometime in the future. I would like to win a boxing match sometime before I die. I will put it on the list of things to accomplish in my life.
Well there are a bunch of photos of me in the ring in a gallery here
