so last saturday was the winter wonderland aim benefit party...i was really excited about having an awesome time partying with my friends. everything was super awesome! i saw a lot of people i hadn't seen in a long time, and i did a lot of drinking too...which leads me to a very important lesson i learned that night...NEVER ACCEPT RANDOM FREE DRINKS FROM PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW! I never black out while drinking and i definitely did and THEN SOME that night. the sad part is that i would never thought twice about the situation if another VICTIM/FRIEND OF MINE who shall remain nameless never came forward...i was drinking w/this girl for awhile and the last thing both of us remember is a random guy coming up to us with a ton of shots and saying that they were free for us. i was already pretty fucked up, so i didn't even think twice about taking it. i don't remember any of my night after this...i woke up in my bed the next morning covered in cuts/scrapes, a twisted ankle and covered in leaves. another friend of mine noticed i was not acting like myself...she knew first hand what the effects of ghb/rufalin look like and thought it might be possible that i was drugged and sent me home after she saw a random creepy guy grabbing me violently by the arm while trying to grope me. apparently my legs just stopped working. the next day i woke up feeling pretty embarassed...i had no idea what happened to me, but i knew that it was bad. last night i heard about the other girl's story of what happened to her that night and it sounded like the same exact thing that happened to me! she woke up w/some cuts and a black eye and became unresponsive/unable to walk at the party. she called me and we figured out that we had both accepted "free shots" from the same guy at the same time. friends of ours around us who have seen us drink a million times before could not believe how fucked up we were and thought that it seemed odd. there are other details i'm not going to go into that lead us to believe we were g'd, but yeah...the ONE TIME my boyfriend is not at a party with me, this shit happens. yep, never doing that again! having these industry parties promoted on twitter is cool and everything because it allows a lot of our biggest/most awesome fans the opportunity to chill with us and have an awesome time while raising money for a good cause...but at the same time it also allows a bunch of weirdos who have bad intentions to show up and try to take advantage of us. needless to say, i will not be attending another industry party with out my boyfriend or another male chaperone. i'm very lucky that i had good friends looking out for me that night.
